Madeleine Elizabeth
Not Just Needlepoint
Madeleine's youthful career started as a little hobby. She first created a poster in her 7th grade art class that conveyed well into a note card. We made note cards and sold them at our local needlepoint shop and then made more notecards!
After that, she began designing needlepoint canvases ... while, at the same time, painting buildings with murals, shoes for special customers, the back of jeans, custom art and under the sea characters for a local Salon.
She has been recognized twice (2014 and 2017) in an international art exhibition called Embracing Our Differences. This non-profit has a mission of enriching lives through diversity. Their annual call to artist: "Art is a powerful tool to evoke social change. Without uttering a single word, artists can enlighten, educate and affect change around the world." This organization also sponsored 'flags' for the World Rowing Competition in Sarasota in 2018. Madeleine was asked to do the flag for the Country of Benin!
Additionally, Madeleine has been recognized at the Sarasota County Fair (2019), The Art Initiative at Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport (1st place in her grade category), and most recently at the Student Art Show where she received recognition for 3rd place and Best in Show.
When Madeleine isn't busy studying or hanging out with friends, she is painting on some type of surface with some type of medium. She loves to experiment. Check back here for some recent works!
